Newport Harriers caters for all ages and abilities. Newport list amongst it's member British Marathion Record Holder Steve Jones and former international 800/1500 metre runner and European Junior Champion Neil Horsfield. 400 metre international Jamie Baulch and sprint specialists Christian Malcolm, Doug Turner and Kevin Williams started their careers with the club. Doug and Kevin are now part of a strong team of UKA qualified coaches at the club all of whom have been DBS/CRB checked. Newport Harriers welcomes anyone who wishes to try out athletics and operates in a safe friendly environment. The club currently has a number of up and coming junior international athletes in its ranks. Club training sessions Monday 18:00 to 20:00 (summer) Monday 18:00 to 19:00 (winter) Tuesday 18:00 to 20:00 Thursday 18:00 to 20:00 Under 11s have priority use of the track from 6pm to 7 pm

Existing members of Newport Harriers will become registered with the British Athletics Home Pages and will be contactable by County team managers. Volunteer officials and marshals will be contactable by local competition organisers (if you declare such an interest).

Club Training Sessions

Monday @ 5:30 pm
Newport Stadium - Off Spitty Road - all track and field events and road and cross country - Under 11 sessions and sessions for disabled athletes start at 5:30pm (these groups have priority use of the track until 6:30 pm). Sessions for all other age groups from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In the winter the track is only available to us up to 7:00 pm We cater for all abilities from beginner to international.
